Hollywood South shot TV show ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ sets a record

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – American Horror Story: Freak Show is FX’s most-watched show of all time, according to Nielsen estimates reported by Variety.  Now that record is true when you combine all viewing platforms.

According to Variety, roughly 12.6 million viewers on average watched American Horror Story: Freak Show, only 11.75 million viewers watched the previous year’s American Horror Story: Coven.

Both episodes Coven and Freak Show were shot on location in New Orleans but now have returned to Los Angeles to work on their next chapter in the series, American Horror Story: Hotel, which consists of 13-episodes.

The cast for the new season will include some regulars from previous installments, including  Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Chloe Sevigny and Matt Bomer. Newer appearances include Lady Gaga and Cheyenne Jackson.

The American Horror Story franchise was was co-created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk and is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television.
