How to charbroil oysters…it’s shucking awesome!

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)– This weekend is the Louisiana Seafood Festival, which highlights Louisiana’s best asset, the fresh seafood and much more:

In honor of the annual festival, News With A Twist reporter, Meghan Kluth learned how to shuck and charbroil oysters, it’s easy to do at home! Follow these steps for an easy and delicious meal:

  1. Find hole in oyster shell
  2. Press shell against hard surface and use a knife to pry it open by moving it an up and down motion
  3. Cut shell loose and free the oyster
  4. Place shells down on grill at 550 degrees
  5. Add your homemade sauce after about 7 minutes of cooking, and continue to cook for a minute and a half
  6. Bon Apetite!
