NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)– This weekend is the Louisiana Seafood Festival, which highlights Louisiana’s best asset, the fresh seafood and much more:
• Three Days of Live Music
• Celebrity Chef Cooking Demonstrations inside a covered pavilion
• Beer Garden featuring a wide selection of craft beers
• A Kid’s Tent featuring fun, seafood-themed activities
• An Arts Village showcasing gifts, décor and more
• Food and Beverages including water, sodas, beer, specialty cocktails and frozen daiquiris

In honor of the annual festival, News With A Twist reporter, Meghan Kluth learned how to shuck and charbroil oysters, it’s easy to do at home! Follow these steps for an easy and delicious meal:
- Find hole in oyster shell
- Press shell against hard surface and use a knife to pry it open by moving it an up and down motion
- Cut shell loose and free the oyster
- Place shells down on grill at 550 degrees
- Add your homemade sauce after about 7 minutes of cooking, and continue to cook for a minute and a half
- Bon Apetite!
