NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Ballet is on stage.

It’s the New Orleans Ballet Theatre.  And the resident choreographer is Diogo De Lima. He’s from Brazil.

The show he’s putting on is the New Orleans Ballet Theatre’s Summer Solstice 2016.

Diogo has been named a “New Orleanian to watch”.  That was last year.  And this year, he’s still the kind of dancer you want to keep your eyes on.

WGNO News with a Twist features reporter Wild Bill Wood has his eyes on the show. And Wild Bill says it’s more than a ballet, it’s a ballet buffet.

Dancers are on stage from Miami, from Atlanta, from Canada, from Kansas City.

Take a look as Wild Bill gets these dancers to perform their favorite food.  It’s a delicious of dancing.  It’s a real feast for the eyes.

And it’s totally fat free.

If you want to see the show, ticket information is right here.

It’s part of the goal of New Orleans Ballet Theatre.  That goal is to become a significant presence on the international dance stage.

The Ballet Theatre here is doing that by “capitalizing on the momentum by providing locally trained dancers an opportunity to thrive in their own community, create and express their own personal artistic voice and give back to a city which for too long has exported its best and brightest.”
