NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The Roots of Music band wasn’t supposed to meet up again until September. But what do you do when the President calls? You practice your heart out until you get it right!
WGNO met with the group for their very last practice before they performed for President Obama.
Derrick Tabb co-founded Roots of Music because of the lack of music programs after Hurricane Katrina. He believes, programs like his help kids stay on the right path. He said, “Children are the future. If you’re not thinking about saving kids and instilling morals and values in them, then you’re not thinking about the future.”
