Teen arrested in connection to shooting that left a 16-year-old dead in Bogalusa

BOGALUSA, La. (WGNO) — A 15-year-old was arrested in connection to a shooting that left a 16-year-old dead in Bogalusa on Saturday, April 13.

According to Bogalusa Police Department officials, officers responded to call about a shooting in the early morning in the area of Union Avenue.

Upon arrival, a 16-year-old was found wounded and pronounced dead at the scene.

An initial investigation led investigators to arrest a 15-year-old for his alleged involvement in the homicide, according to BPD officers.

The 15-year-old has been charged and booked with first degree murder, four counts of attempted first degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile and failure to seek assistance.

BPD officers said “additional arrests are expected in the future.”
