2 victims fatally wounded in Chef Menteur shooting identified

UPDATE: The two victim’s killed in a New Orleans East shooting Wednesday, have been identified as:

The two were among the seven total people wounded in the 11700 block of Chef Menteur Highway just after 6 p.m. Officer found three victims all suffering from gunshot wounds. One female victim died at the scene. The other two victims, a man and a woman were both transported to a nearby hospital where the man later died.

Officer later found two children ages 3 and 8 who had also been shot. There is no further update on their condition as the investigation is still ongoing.


NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Two people were killed and 3 others, including 2 children, were wounded Wednesday night, during a shooting incident in New Orleans East.

Around 6:00 p.m., officers responded to shots fired in the 11700 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

At the scene, officers found the three victims all suffering from gunshot wounds. One female victim died at the scene. The other two victims, a man and a woman were both transported to a nearby hospital where the man later died.

Some time after, officers received a report in the 8000 block of Arcadia of two children, ages 3 and 8 were also shot. There are no updates on their conditions at this time.

The incident is under investigation.  At this time there are no updates on a possible suspect or motive.
