BOGALUSA, La. (WGNO) — An Amite man is in the custody of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office after a chase led to a crash in Bogalusa on Friday, April 26.

The WPSO reported deputies responded to a report of a man driving a red pickup truck while allegedly trespassing and yelling out the window on Northwood Drive around 3:16 p.m.

WPSO officials said deputies tried to pull over the truck, but the suspect, identified by WPSO deputies as 36-year-old Jeremy Kihneman, allegedly drove away and led deputies on a chase.

They said the chase ended on Lewis Lane, where “Kihneman spun out in a yard and lost control on the dead-end road.”

While trying to stop Kihneman, he allegedly hit a deputy’s vehicle before resisting arrest.

According to the WPSO, “Subsequent investigation revealed that Kihneman was under the influence of a controlled substance and had also consumed alcohol.”

WPSO officials said Kihneman was allegedly found to be in possession of a gun and homemade brass knuckles.

Kihneman was arrested and faces charges of disturbing the peace, criminal damage to property, resisting arrest and aggravated flight from an officer.
