CHALMETTE, La. (WGNO) — The St. Bernard Parish District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday, June 18, that the man accused in an April attempted murder has been indicted.

37-year-old Alvin Langford is accused of stabbing a man in the face, chest and leg following a disagreement between him and the victim on April 6.

St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies said they responded to the call of a stabbing around 6 p.m. in the 2900 block of Marietta Street where they found the victim lying in the front of a home with several cuts to his body.

Langford was later found and arrested on charges of aggravated second-degree battery following an investigation that revealed the men were acquaintances.

According to the SBSO, “Langsford and the victim were acquaintances and had been involved in a prior disagreement.”

He has since been indicted on charges of attempted second-degree murder and felony obstruction of justice.

Langford is being held on a $715,000 bond.
