METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — During its annual awards luncheon this year, Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans will invite each police or sheriff’s department to select an officer or deputy of the year to be recognized at the event.

It’s the 39th year for the ceremony, and this year there’s something new.

On the Crimestoppers website, you’ll find the list of candidates where you can learn more about each one of them. Then you can vote for your choice.

Crimestoppers leaders say the award will recognize the officer or deputy who demonstrates the core values of the law enforcement oath of, “Honor, Character, Courage, Public Trust, Service to Our Communities, Reverence for the Law, Commitment to Leadership, Integrity in All We Say and Do, Respect for People and Quality Through Continuous Improvement.”
