Homicide investigation underway after 16-year-old girl fatally shot in Reserve

RESERVE, La. (WGNO) — Deputies with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting that left a 16-year-old girl dead in Reserve on Sunday, June 2.

The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the shooting took place around 2 a.m. on Airline Highway near Central Avenue.

St. John the Baptist Parish deputies said the victim, identified by the sheriff’s office as 16-year-old Aariah Henry, was shot once and taken to a hospital, where she later died.

According to the sheriff’s office, “After receiving witness statements and viewing camera footage, this appears to be a specifically targeted attack.”
