JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The trial of two former Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies charged in the 2022 shooting of an unarmed man in Marrero will begin on Tuesday, May 7.
Former Jefferson Parish deputies Isaac Hughes and Johnathon Louis are both facing charges of manslaughter in connection with the death of 34-year-old Daniel Vallee.

Five days after the shooting, the JPSO reported Hughes and Louis had been arrested and fired.
On Monday, May 6, 12 jurors were selected following a selection process that lasted all day.
