NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting in the Algiers neighborhood.
Around 8:33 p.m. on Monday, March 18, NOPD officers said they were called to respond to a shooting at the corner of General Meyer Avenue and Murl Street.
When they arrived, officers said an unresponsive male juvenile was found lying on the ground at the location suffering from a gunshot wound.
EMS pronounced him dead on the scene.
No further details are available. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
