Man accused of attacking woman with baseball bat in Broadmoor neighborhood

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — An arrest was made following the attempted homicide of a woman in the Broadmoor neighborhood on Monday, July 15.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, at 5:46 p.m., officers reported 55-year-old Alexander Williams allegedly attacked a woman in the 3900 block of Washington Avenue with a baseball bat.

They added that Williams also allegedly held a gun to the woman’s head.

Officers arrived on the scene and arrested Williams. The woman was taken to a hospital but an update on her condition was not released.

The NOPD is investigating the crime as an attempted homicide.
