VIOLET, La. (WGNO) — A man was arrested in Violet and is being charged with numerous drug charges, resisting an officer by flight and three counts of cruelty to a juvenile.

According to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Tevaun Lewis allegedly possessed and intended to distribute cocaine, fentanyl, crack cocaine, heroin, Oxycodone, Suboxone and marijuana.

Police also say that Lewis had drug paraphernalia in his possession and attempted to run from police during their interaction.

Lewis is now at the St. Bernard Parish Prison. His bond is set at $428,250.

Sheriff James Pohlmann asks that St. Bernard Parish residents call the sheriff’s office narcotics hotline at 504-271-DOPE or 3673 if they suspect illegal drug activity.
