SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — The Slidell Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a woman reportedly wielding an axe at a campsite.
According to officers, around 7:24 p.m. on Monday, April 8, a man called police telling them that he had been chased out of a wooded area by a woman with an axe.
The victim told Slidell police that he had been assisting a man in finding his way back to Mississippi and went into a nearby patch of woods to check on him. While there, the victim said he was approached by an angry woman, who was also naked and had an axe.
He reportedly told officers that the woman then raised the axe over her head and began to chase him. As he ran, he said the woman was close behind him but was able to outrun her and make it to his vehicle.
Slidell police said the woman was last seen walking down a public road still unclothed.
An arrest warrant has been issued for charges of aggravated assault and obscenity – second offense.
Anyone with information on the woman’s location is asked to call the SPD.
