NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting in the St. Roch neighborhood that happened on Wednesday, March 6.

According to officers, they responded to a call about shots being fired in the 2200 block of North Derbigny Street.

A man in the area told officers after hearing the shots, he realized he was struck by a bullet in his hand.

He was taken to a hospital by car. His condition is not known.

Further details weren’t released. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.
