UPDATE: Dwayne Batiste, the 25-year-old who was shot in the chest Tuesday evening in Metairie, has died.
Bobby James, 24, of New Orleans, has been booked with first-degree murder in connection with Batiste’s death.
METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) – A man is in critical condition after a shooting at an apartment complex in Metairie.
It happened about 6:30 p.m. in the 200 block of West Esplanade Avenue.
Col. John Fortunato, a spokesman for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, said the victim is a 25-year-old man who was shot in the chest. He was taken to University Medical Center and is in critical condition.
