NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the shooting of a man who tried to recover his stolen car on Saturday, June 8.

According to the NOPD, the victim was tracking his stolen vehicle and found it in the 3500 block of Prytania Street. Upon his arrival, officers said that the victim “confronted the suspect,” who he believed stole his vehicle.

In response to the confrontation, officers said the suspect fired a shot at the victim, which “grazed his right shoulder.”

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
