TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Two people are facing murder charges after new information in a 2018 missing person case led to the discovery of human remains in a Terrebonne Parish pond.

The TPSO reported 45-year-old Larondell Esko was reported missing in October 2018.

While Esko was not found during the initial investigation, TPSO detectives said they continued to get tips and hear rumors about Esko’s location in the parish and other areas.

In March 2024, the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Intelligence Division reviewed the initial investigation and reportedly found new information.

Criminal Intelligence Unit detectives conducted interviews “which also revealed additional evidence in the investigation.”

Following the discovery of new information and evidence, Glen Paul Rodriguez and Ashlee Bridget Cantrelle were identified as people of interest in the case.

On March 4, TPSO officials said Rodriguez and Cantrelle were taken in for questioning when they allegedly admitted to being involved with Esko’s death.

Rodriguez and Cantrelle were then arrested on charges of first-degree murder and obstruction of justice.

TPSO detectives searched a property in the 5200 block of Bayouside Drive reportedly connected to Rodriguez and Cantrelle on April 5 and 6, where investigators said they drained a small pond and found human remains believed to be Esko’s.

According to the TPSO, “Investigators and Crime Scene personnel completed an in-depth search of the property which culminated in the discovery of additional evidence linked to the investigation.”

The investigation is ongoing.
