COVINGTON, La. (WGNO) – Two men are behind bars after the St. Tammany Parish Narcotics Task Force found 16 one-pot meth labs at a Covington-area home.
Matthew Perry, 36, and Roy Bell, 35, both of Covington were arrested for one count of manufacturing schedule II CDS (methamphetamine). They were booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
The Narcotics Task Force began its investigation in January after receiving several complaints that Bell and Perry were manufacturing methamphetamine at Perry’s residence on Perry Road in the Lee Road community, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
On March 18, 2015, members of the Narcotics task Force witnessed Bell and Perry purchasing the ingredients needed to make meth. Agents then followed the two men to the residence, where they found more meth-making ingredients.
While searching the home, agents discovered 16 one-pot meth labs and an excessive amount of precursors, including approximately 200 pounds of fertilizer, 12 containers of Coleman fuel, 11 empty boxes of pseudoephedrine, drain cleaners and coffee filters.
The St. Tammany Parish Narcotics Task Force is comprised of members from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Mandeville Police Department, the Covington Police Department and the Slidell Police Department.
