NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A New Orleans Police Department officer is facing multiple charges after he was arrested on Saturday, March 16.

Tyler Sirois was charged with malfeasance in office, simple battery, false imprisonment with a weapon and unauthorized entry in an inhabited dwelling.

This all began following a car crash.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Sirois responded to the crash involving a 17-year-old boy on March 4.

Then, about a week after the crash, Sirois allegedly went to the boy’s home, told him to take his clothes off and looked at his body.

According to a statement from a NOPD spokesperson, 28-year-old Sirois has been arrested and “reassigned pending the outcome of an internal investigation. As part of this process, the officer has been placed under close supervision and his policing powers have been suspended.”
