NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting in New Orleans East in the early morning hours of Monday, July 17.
According to the NOPD, officers responded to the 4300 block of Lonely Oak Drive around 4:49 a.m. on a call of shots fired in the area. Responding officers say they found the victim on the scene inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.
EMS officials pronounced them dead on the scene.
No further details are available at this time. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.
The Orleans Parish coroner identified the victim as 29-year-old Precious Gray.
