COVINGTON, La. (WGNO) — Two men from New York were arrested in St. Tammany Parish on Monday, June 24. One was arrested for allegedly using fraudulent credit cards and the other for allegedly trying to bond him out with a fake ID.

Officers from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Patrol Division got a call about a man who matched the description of someone using fake credit cards in the area.

The suspect, 32-year-old Renandson Parfait, was arrested after officers at the scene said he refused to show identification.

After an investigation, STPSO officers say Parfait allegedly used fake credit cards in at least three different stores in the Covington area.

Parfait is being charged with access device fraud, 10 counts of bank fraud, identity theft and unlawful production, manufacturing and distribution of fraudulent documents

An alleged accomplice, 40-year-old Alan Artist, also known as Robert Grant, was arrested after officers say he tried to use a fake ID to bail out Parfait.

Artist is being charged with injuring public record, possession of a fake ID, obstruction of justice and resisting an officer

Both men were booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.
