Update: 7/30/21, 4:30 p.m. — On Friday, police arrested 41-year-old Barry Bowie in connection to the June homicide.

Investigation efforts led police to identify Bowie as the perpetrator in the murder of Henry James. He was arrested without incident by NOPD.

Bowie was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on murder charges, plus an additional active warrant out of Texas.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The NOPD reported a homicide in the 1900 block of St. Ann Street on Monday evening.

An initial report received shortly before 7 p.m. stated one adult male was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound the in neighborhood of Treme.

The victim was later identified as Henry James. He was transported to the hospital by EMS, where he later succumbed to his injury.
