Shooting in Marigny leaves teenager dead

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting in the Marigny area that claimed the life of a teenager on Monday, June 26.

According to officials with the NOPD, the shooting happened in the 2500 block of St. Claude Avenue. Around 2:45 p.m., officers said they received a call reporting shots fired in the area.

Upon arrival, officers found the 18-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS pronounced him dead on the scene.

No further details are available at this time, but the NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.

The Orleans Parish coroner identified the victim as Revell Andrews.
