NOPD: Man shot, shoes and bicycle stolen in Bywater armed robbery

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)— An investigation is underway in New Orleans after a man was shot during an armed robbery in Bywater.

According to NOPD, the shooting happened in the 4400 block of Dauphine Street around 12:30 p.m.

Initial reports show a 40-year-old man suffered from gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a local hospital by EMS to be treated.

According to the NOPD’s Major Offense Log released on Tuesday morning, multiple suspects approached the victim and a fight started. One suspect reportedly pulled out a gun and fired a shot at the man, striking him.

The suspects then took the man’s shoes and bicycle and then left the area.
