Editor’s Note: The New Orleans Police Department initially reported that five victims were found at the shooting reported near Joseph Guillaume Place and St. Claude Avenue. It was later clarified that four victims were found at that scene.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — One person is dead, and four others are injured after two shootings in the Seventh Ward on Monday, Nov. 27.

Officials with the New Orleans Police Department said officers responded to a report of a shooting near North Claiborne and Elysian Fields avenues around 4:10 p.m.

At the scene, officers said they found two men who had been shot. One was taken by ambulance to a hospital and the other was also taken to a hospital by a private vehicle.

At 4:57 p.m., NOPD officials said officers responded to another shooting near Henriette Delille and Saint Anthony streets.

They said three men had been shot. One was found at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he later died. The two other victims went to a hospital in a private vehicle.

The Orleans Parish coroner identified the victim as 33-year-old Kendall Hains on Thursday, Nov. 30.

According to the NOPD, “Any connection between the scenes is currently under investigation.”

The investigation is ongoing, and the Orleans Parish coroner will identify the victim.
