WASHINGTON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Deputies are seeking a person of interest in connection with a Washington Parish homicide that occurred near Bogalusa on Friday, July 5.

According to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, around 8:15 a.m., police responded to reports of a man found dead behind his home in the 1200 block South Choctaw Road. The investigation initially revealed that the man had been shot several times.

The shooting is being investigated as a homicide and detectives are currently following several leads. The identity of the victim won’t be released until his family has been notified.

Deputies are looking for 35-year-old Clois Clifton Blackledge III as a person of interest in their investigation. Police say Blackledge was last seen riding a Honda motorcycle, which was originally colored black and silver, but may have been recently repainted white.
