NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Jefferson Parish District Attorney Paul Connick announced today that his office will pursue the death penalty in the case against a man charged with the murder of a Raising Cane’s employee.
A grand jury handed down a charge of first-degree murder today against Joshua Every for the June 29 murder of 21 year-old Taylor Friloux, the Raising Cane’s manager Every is accused of stabbing to death during a robbery.
“After meeting with Ms. Friloux’s family and consulting with my staff, I have decided my office will seek the death penalty,” Connick said in a statement released after the indictment.
The grand jury also handed down an eight-count indictment against Gregory Donald, Jr., Mark Crocklen, Jr., and Ariana Runner.
Donald and Crocklen both face second-degree murder charges, among others, while Runner faces conspiracy to commit armed robbery and obstruction of justice charges.
