St. Roch gang members get 9 year sentences

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — U. S. Attorney Kenneth Polite announced two gang members will each serve nine years in prison after reaching plea agreements on drug and weapons charges.

According to Polite’s prosecutors, 24-year-old Perry Wilson, who goes by the nickname Yummy, and 21-year-old Tyrone Burton, who goes by the name Man Man, were part of the “Ride or Die” gang which used a house on Mandeville Street, and other locations, as a base of operation in the St. Roch neighborhood.

Polite’s office says the gang operated from 2007 to 2013.  Polite’s office says twelve of the gang members faced charges in the investigation and nine already pleaded guilty.

The arrests and prosecution were the work of the ATF and the Multi-Agency Gang Unit.
