ST. ROSE, La. (WGNO) — Two teenage boys accused of trying to steal cars in the St. Rose area have been arrested.
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office reported deputies and detectives responded to reports of attempted car thefts and burglaries in the Charlestown neighborhood on Sunday, May 19.
Through an investigation, detectives said they learned two people tried to steal three Kia SUVS by “damaging and manipulating the steering columns.”
According to deputies, they also tried to burglarize a Dodge Charger and Nissan Murano.
Around 8 p.m. Sunday, St. Charles Parish deputies arrested a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy while investigating a different report of attempted car burglaries in the Turtle Pond neighborhood.
According to the sheriff’s office, “Detectives developed probable cause to arrest the juveniles for the attempted thefts and burglaries that occurred in the Charlestown Neighborhood earlier in the morning.”
The teens each face three counts of attempted vehicle theft and two counts of attempted vehicle burglary.
