NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man and woman were arrested in Baton Rouge in connection to four New Orleans business burglaries, including the burglary of American Police Equipment.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, the crimes happened between Jan. 6 and Jan. 14. Three of them occurred in the 9000 block of Airline Highway, and the other in the 3500 block of Monticello Avenue.
Through an investigation, detectives collected evidence, including a surveillance video of the incident, and were able to distribute the information to surrounding law enforcement agencies.
On Jan. 21, officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department notified NOPD officers of two people in possession of items matching those from the burglary, and an arrest warrant was issued for 61-year-old Benjamine Polasky and 43-year-old Mindy Bohlander.
NOPD officers said they went to Baton Rouge to help search the suspects’ possessions, where they said they found the stolen items.
Further investigation resulted in detectives learning the two were allegedly responsible for the Jan. 14 burglary of A.P.E. where a blue jacket, sweaters, a pair of boots and flashlights were stolen.
The two face four counts of principal to simple burglary.
Polasky and Bohlander remain in Baton Rouge until they are transferred to New Orleans.
