An investigation revealed the victims were at a business during closing time when the bouncer, 30-year-old Shaquille Henderson, asked them to leave. That’s when NOPD officers said Henderson allegedly forced them out, physically attacked the victims and shot them both in the abdomen.

Henderson was arrested on the scene. He now faces charges of:

  • Attempted second-degree murder
  • Illegal discharge of a firearm during a violent crime
  • Illegal carry of a firearm
  • Illegal possession of a firearm in an ABO
  • Illegal possession of a stolen firearm
  • Negligent carrying of a concealed weapon

The double shooting comes after a tourist, 39-year-old Christopher Oatts, was shot and killed at the corner of Bourbon and Toulouse Street on Saturday, June 22. An investigation into the homicide led to the arrest of two women.

22-year-old Mia Lindsey and 26-year-old Maraiah Campbell were identified as suspects and arrested in Columbus, Mississippi. They will be extradited to Orleans Parish where they will face charges of second-degree murder and accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.
