ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Warrants have been issued for a 29-year-old Madisonville man after “high-end” vehicles reported as stolen were found in a storage facility in the Goodbee area.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were sent to a “suspicious” vehicle near a storage facility in the 73000 block of Highway 1077 on Saturday, July 13.
At the facility, deputies said they found “several high-end vehicles,” and Property Crimes detectives began an investigation.
As detectives investigated the facility, they allegedly recovered four cars, which the total for was more than $300,000.
According to STPSO deputies, the cars were allegedly stolen from Houston, Texas, and the cars’ VIN plates were changed. Additionally, deputies reported that “approximately 12 and a half pounds of marijuana and a small amount of Adderall” were found in one of the cars.
STPSO detectives said they traced the stolen cars to Tyler Stewart.
Warrants were issued for Stewart’s arrest on four counts of possession of stolen vehicles over $25,000, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute schedule II.
The STPSO reported that the investigation is ongoing, and further arrests and charges are possible.
