ANGIE, La. (WGNO) – Two men are behind bars after deputies in Washington Parish found 10 pounds of marijuana, five illegal firearms – and a frozen alligator carcass.

According to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, a U.S. Postal Service inspector tipped off law enforcement about marijuana in a box that was shipping to an address in Angie.

Deputies searched the home in the 26000 block of Mondy Road, where they found 10 pounds of marijuana, three marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia and the alligator carcass.

Hugh Jones, 43, and Lawrence Walls, 41, were arrested and booked into the Washington Parish Jail on charges of possession with intent to distribute schedule I drugs and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with weapons present.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries took the alligator carcass.
