Woman accused of stabbing another woman in Uptown New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A woman is facing an attempted murder charge after she allegedly stabbed another woman in Uptown New Orleans on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

The New Orleans Police Department reported officers responded to a call of a stabbing in the 2100 block of Magazine Street around 11:59 a.m.

NOPD detectives said an investigation showed that the suspect, identified by the NOPD as Sharon Stewart, allegedly attacked a woman, stabbed her multiple times and threatened two other people before leaving the scene.

Stewart was found and arrested. She’s been charged with attempted second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
