NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The public is invited to eat, drink and be merry this Friday at the Hilton Riverside Grand Ballroom. In honor of St. Joseph the carpenter, a traditional St. Joseph dish will be prepared in excess.
500 pounds of pasta, 150 gallons of meatless gravy, 50 pounds of cheese along with sardines, fennel, pine nuts, and raisins will be mixed into an eight-foot pasta dish.
The traditional St. Joseph dish is called Pasta con Sardi.
The public is invited for free pasta, wine, and entertainment beginning at noon Friday, March 13 at the Hilton Riverside.
This year’s Grand Marshall is actor, producer, and singer James Darren. Special Marshall is singer Lena Prima, daughter of the late Louis Prima.
The Italian American Marching Club 2015 Caesar is Armando Aaro, Jr. and the 2015 Queen is Sarah Marie Cardenia Vogel, daughter of Mitzi Cardenia and Aaron Vogel.
