New Orleans (WGNO)- Legendary New Orleans musician Frankie Ford has died at the age of 76.
A representative of the rock & roll icon has confirmed that Ford died at home late last night after a lengthy illness.
Ford, who was born in Gretna in 1939, was the adopted son of Vincent and Anna Guzzo.
He became know as the “New Orleans Dynamo,” and had a top 20 hit in 1959 with the song “Sea Cruise.”
That record went gold selling over a million copies.
In 2010, Ford was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
