Yellow production signs:
The yellow signs you see posted around the city have an important role for film productions.
They are posted by the locations department to help production and crew members find their way to the set.
The weird letters might not make sense to you, but that’s the point. So the public doesn’t know which film is being shot and where.
Hollywood South Highlight:
Meet John-Carlo Monti. Monti started learning film by simply sitting on the couch with his father at a young age. He was exposed to the 70s classic films and since then grew an interest in filmmaking.
Later Monti moved to NYC where he took a year off of school and interned at a production company called Washington Square Films. There he learned the ins and out of the business.
He also enrolled at a school taught by Allan Oxman called The Edit Center, a school that teaches the art of editing.
Monti moved from NYC to come to New Orleans because he said it’s way easier to break into the film business.
Currently, he’s employed at Acme Film Productions where he is learning more about the film business.
