(CNN) — That’s right: #JLoVegas is trending around the world with the news that the pop star and actress will be headlining a residency in Sin City.

She announced her new gig on “American Idol” on Tuesday. The news comes on the heels that “Idol,” on which Lopez is a judge, will be canceled next year.

“The show is going to be a multifaceted, high-energy ‘Jenny from the Block’ party, mixing all aspects of what my fans and I love,” Lopez says.

Planet Hollywood’s 4,500-seat Axis Theater will be where J.Lo makes her first appearance on January 20. Lopez will hold residency at the same resort where Britney Spears is playing her concert “Piece of Me.”

Lopez tweeted, “So excited!!! This is going to be the show I’ve always dreamed of creating.”

Fans can expect a mix of pop, R&B and fan favorites tinged with the singer’s Latin flair, Planet Hollywood posted on its website.

So far, a total of 20 shows are scheduled in January, February, May and June.

If you are anxious to get your tickets, have your credit card ready. They go on sale for the public on May 16.
