NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The outpouring of support for flood victims in Louisiana continues, with Lady Gaga the latest celebrity to respond to the disaster.

Early Wednesday morning, Gaga sent a tweet saying, “My thoughts and prayers to all of our loved ones in Louisiana suffering through the flood. My family & I are donating to relief efforts.”

There’s no word yet exactly what the pop star plans to donate.

Covington native Ian Somerhalder also tweeted his love for the state saying, “I love you. This flooding is horrific. Help is on the ground and more on the way.”

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift has announced she plans to donate a million dollars toward the recovery effort.

In a statement to CNN, Swift commented that the people of Louisiana gave her a warm welcome last year.

“We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking.”

Swift continues, “I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time.”
