Lil Wayne ingested an extraordinary amount of Lean, a Promethazine/Codeine syrup mix, in the hours leading up to his multiple mid-air seizures, witnesses close to the rapper told TMZ.
Weezy allegedly drank about five 16 oz bottles during his club appearance in Milwaukee over the weekend. One onlooker told the celebrity news site, Wayne downed 3 bottles just by himself.
Wayne also continued sipping Lean during the after-party.
Wayne was hospitalized in Omaha, Nebraska Monday after suffering a seizure aboard his private jet. His plane was in the air for minutes when the rapper suffered a second seizure forcing the plane to land again. Wayne refused treatment.
Wayne previously said he stop sipping Lean because of his history with seizures and epilepsy.
A rep for Wayne says the rapper is currently in stable condition and “good spirits.”
