BELLE CHASSE, La. (WGNO) — The New Orleans Air show returns March 23 through 24 at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Belle Chasse. The biggest stars of the show will be the Navy’s Blue Angels.
WGNO’s Curt Sprang was selected for the once in a lifetime opportunity to fly inside one of the team’s jets. Lt. Connor O’Donnell piloted Blue Angels 7, taking Curt through a series of maneuvers.
The flight is as challenging as it is inspiring. Some maneuvers place more than 6Gs on the body, which requires the pilot and passenger to take steps to avoid the possibility of passing out due to a reduction of blood flow to the brain.

The Blue Angels fly F/A-18 Hornets 
Vertical takeoffs and other maneuvers can bring more than 6Gs of force. 
Curt’s ankles, thighs, waist, shoulders and chest all had straps 
The planes have 3 vents in the passenger area which can provide cold air (helping with nausea). Also, one of the ankle straps is visible in this pic. 
Under the thigh strap, passengers are provided with motion sickness bags. Also, there are additional vents on each side of the compartment. The black and yellow switch arms the pyrotechnics for the ejection seat.
