NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)NCIS: New Orleans is one of the most watched TV shows. It ranked as the sixth most-watched show on CBS. The hit crime show is doing so well that they’ve been picked up for a season 3 and will start rolling cameras this summer.

The producers of the show wanted to have a New Orleans feel to it. So the only solution to that would be to shoot the show on location in New Orleans.  The gang’s office and the morgue are some of the many sets built on a sound stage. But when the cast and crew are out on location, they are some of the nicest people to encounter. The cast will literally approach fans in between filming to talk and take pictures. Sometimes the crew will even hand out a souvenir.

Fans will sometimes approach the crew while filming on a highway.

“About 100 yards down the road this car just comes screeching to a halt,” says Scott Bakula, who plays Agent Pride. ” These two women jump out of the car and they’re running back and they go, ‘We love you! ‘We love your show! And we’re waving to say thank you!  I hate your accent!’ Then they drove off. Then I turned around and said, ‘I’m sure she’s talking about Lucas.’

Since New Orleans has one of the largest ports in America, the producers are trying to direct the show towards the Port of New Orleans some in the third season.
