Luling – St. James Parish has announced it’s first fatality from the coronavirus.

In a statement released to the media tonight (Mar. 18), Parish President Perer Dufresne said the patient was a person over the age of 60 who had an underlying health condition, and died at St. James Parish Hospital.

Plaquemines Parish has reported its first coronavirus case. Parish officials did not give any details about the patient.

That brings the total number of reported cases across Louisiana to 282.

The number of fatalities is 8– 7 in Orleans Parish and one in St. James Parish.
