On Sunday the New Orleans Police Department tweeted out that Officer Sharon Williams passed away after complications from COVID-19.

Officer Williams was a thirty year veteran of the force.

She is not the only officer to pass away from COVID, in May Officer Mark Hall passed after contracting the virus.

The department did not list her age.
