Is Louisiana a good place to get married? Study shows where state ranks

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A new study revealed that Louisiana is among the best states in the United States to get married in.

Glamira, custom jewelry experts, looked at data on wedding attire, accessories, local food and entertainment, venues and accommodations, wedding expenses and wedding planning and other services. The results were then gathered in an index to determine the best U.S. states to get married in, according to a news release.

Louisiana was ranked as the No. 6 best state to get married in. The study shows the state received 48.26 for attire and accessories, 64.05 for food and entertainment, 58.19 for venues and accommodation, 88.90 for wedding expenses and 35.79 for wedding planning and other services.

Louisiana received a final index score of 58.02 out of 100, according to the study.

Vermont was ranked as the best U.S. state to get married in with a final index score of 73.88 out of 100.

The worst U.S. state to get married in was Alaska, according to the study. The state received a final index score of 32.99 out of 100.
