BATON ROUGE, LA (WGNO) – A 25-year-old Baton Rouge man is under arrest for allegedly killing his own four-year-old son.
Kristopher Carter told police he and his son were “play fighting” the day before he died.
Carter says he took the boy to the hospital after he began to vomit and later became unresponsive.
Baton Rouge police say the child had bruises on his stomach and a lacerated bowel.
The boy died at the hospital.
Carter is now facing one count of negligent homicide. His attorney says, Carter loved his son and the whole thing was an accident.
The autopsy report shows the cause of death as “blunt force trauma.”
