NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans is certainly a top party town, and The Remedy Room on St. Charles Avenue is a popular spot for folks who over imbibe.  The business provides intravenous fluids to help people overcome their hangovers. On October 2nd, at about 2:00 in the morning, someone was either really in need of the business’ services or just plain stupid when he broke into the place.
Surveillance video shows the man force open the business’ front entrance.  Then he spends a significant amount of time trying to properly close the door.  He is then seen walking toward the back of the building. Workers say the man is seen on surveillance footage walking around and mumbling to himself. The man tried to get into a storage cabinet but was unsuccessful.  He didn’t take anything but damaged some locks and other items.  According to workers, the man says at one point, “Well that’s a challenge,” referring to the locks and other security he encountered. Workers say the man may have also been at a nearby restaurant earlier in the evening where he walked the tab.  They also say the man was wearing a wedding ring and an activity monitor on his wrist, so they say he probably has a family and friends.  So somebody knows who he is. The video at the top of this page shows the break-in. If you know anything about the case or the man’s identity, call the NOPD’s Sixth District at 504-658-6060 or CrimeStoppers at 504-822-1111.
