NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The city may have broken an ALS Ice Bucket world record.

On Saturday, Mayor Landrieu and Steve Gleason hosted the event in Champions Square to raise awareness and support in the fight against ALS.

The city says they handed out 2,000 buckets.

We’re told the largest record before this one was in Times Square where 1500 people participated.
